Great Lakes Regional Award Photo Requirements

Congratulations to all the award winners! Photographs are used for Regional Award Trophies, the Regional Awards Book, the Banquet Slideshow, and the GLR website.

Photo submission due date: May 14, 2010

Photos for Regional Award Trophies received after the due date will incur a late submission fee for each photo submitted.

What to send

Since the photographs are used on trophies, in the book, in the slideshow and on the website a vertical and horizontal picture is useful in different situations.

Please send an email to glrphotos@gmail.com with:
  • A Subject Line that includes your Region, Division (CH, KIT, PR) and award placement (e.g., "R4 CH 16th Best Cat", "R4 DM", "R4 BoB Maine Coon", etc.)
  • The body of the email, to include the cat’s full registered name, placement and owner’s name for reference. NOTE: Awards will reflect the names of cat, owners, breeders exactly as provided by CFA.
  • Two file attachments, one vertical image and one horizontal image that would print at least 4”x 6”. NOTE: Please designate one of the two attachments to be forwarded to Baturin Designs for your trophy (Top 25 Champions, Kittens and Cats in Premiership).

      • If you are receiving a Regional Award Trophy

      Please consider the following for trophies produced by Baturin Designs:
      • Please designate one of the two attachments to be forwarded to Baturin for your trophy.
      • Send high resolution images that are sized at least 4”x 6”. Your photographer can assist you in determining if the image is suitable for the award.
      • Choose poses that have a fair amount of background space around the subject.
      • Photos should ideally have strong contrast between the subject and the background. NOTE: light colored cats on light backgrounds, and black cats on black backgrounds will not have the necessary drama high contrast will provide. If your photo falls into this category, please talk to your photographer. They have the technology to make changes to background colors.
      • Do not send photos from a website, or from a photographer CD. They do not have the resolution required; they are for web use only and we will not be able to use them for your award.
      • Digital images are preferred. If you must send an original photo, please send it right away to: Bob Mathas, 19861 Benwood Court, Strongsville, OH, 44149. They take much longer to process. Original photos sent for scanning must be in excellent condition--no scratches, tears or bends. The photos will be returned with the award. Include the same information as you would have included on the email subject line and body.

          • Duplicate Awards

          Orders for duplicate awards are due the same time as the photos--May 14.
          • Late orders will be accepted but you will incur a $10 late fee, per award, if received through May 21.
          • If received after May 21, a $20.00 late fee will be incurred by you, and Baturin cannot guaranteed delivery at the banquet but they will do their very best to make it happen.
          • NOTE: Duplicates requiring any name changes will incur a $5.00 name change fee per award.
